Finance Ministry hires a PR company to boost the image

Finance Ministry hires a PR company to boost the image

Sri Lanka’s Finance Ministry has launched a media propaganda campaign to create awareness on its public service

activities engaging a private Public Relations and Advertising company.

The aim is to boost the image of Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake while high lighting the activities carried out by the ministry and implementation of budget proposals.

A leading Strategic Alliance has been engaged by the ministry to spearhead the media propaganda campaign, ministry officials said.

While the Finance Ministry has always had a fully fledged internal media unit and information department headed by a director since former president J.R Jayawardena’s time, strangely enough only recently it hired a professional PR company to handle the ministry’s propaganda campaign, they pointed out.

This media unit with a television crew has the ability to carry out any propaganda activity of the ministry without hiring private Public Relation agencies, they said.
