Stronger Pak-Lanka partnership key to fighting terrorism, poverty in region

Interior Minister Ch. Nisar Ali Khan has said that a stronger Pakistan-Sri Lankan partnership was key to promoting greater cooperation in the region, strengthening regional platforms and was also a bulwark against the challenges facing the region including the issue of terrorism and poverty besides warding off any self-assumed notion of hegemony in the region. He said this while talking to former President Mahinda Rajapaksa in Islamabad at Punjab House on Thursday, when the latter called on him along with his delegation.


JO raises Criminal Procedure Code Bill issue

Leader of the Joint Opposition in Parliament and the MEP, Dinesh Gunawardena, in Parliament...... yesterday charged that the Attorney General's notice to the Supreme Court that the Justice Ministry should withdraw the Code of Criminal Procedure (Special Provisions) (Amendment) Bill following two petitioners challenging the Bill, had a negative impact on Parliament.
