Former President and MP Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday said that women who underwent untold hardships and difficulties due to the atrocities of LTTE terrorists for over three decades, are now being harassed by the government .

He said that women are now having only one meal a day due to the government’s economic policy.

Rajapaksa was speaking at a women’s rally organised by women’s representatives of the Joint Opposition at Viharamahadevi park yesterday.

Rajapaksa said that women at grassroots level are suffering a lot due to the government’s poor management of the economy.
