A group of Joint Opposition (JO) members of the North Central Provincial Council (NCPC)
have decided to meet former President Mahinda Rajapaksa later today for crucial talks regarding their future conduct within the NCPC, sources said.
Out of 33 members of the NCPC, 18 represent the JO. They are set to meet Rajapaksa later this evening in a sequel to the JO NCPC member K.H. Nandasena being relieved of his ministry portfolio in the Council a few days ago.
Another JO member of the NCPC S.M. Ranjith also quit his NCPC portfolio in protest against Nandasena's sudden removal.
