A spectacular batting collapse by Sri Lanka saw them lose their opening ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup match against New Zealand by nine wickets at Bristol on Saturday.
Invited to bat first Sri Lanka looked headed for a total beyond 250 when they were 141-1 courtesy a fine half-century from Chamari Atapattu (53 off 66 balls) and a steady knock of 49 off 113 balls from Chamari Polgampola.
