HE urges all MPs to support 19A

With the much awaited enactment of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution, the people of Sri Lanka will experience the true meaning of ‘democracy and peace’, said President Maithripala Sirisena, after he began the second reading of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution in the Parliament yesterday (27).

Patalie supports 19A

Minister Patalie Champika Ranawaka says that the 19th amendment to the constitution which will be presented in Parliament has been approved by the Supreme Court. During a media briefing at the Jathika Hela Urumaya office Minister Ranawaka said that those who do not support to pass the amendment will be considered as traitors.

SLFP to support 19A

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party has decided to extend full support for the 19th Amendment to the Constitution. This decision was taken during a special Central Committee meeting of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party. It was chaired by President Maithripala Sirisena. Action will be taken to dissolve the Government after the approval of the 20th Amendment to the Constitution.

NFF deplores arrest of Basil

The National Freedom Front has deplored the arrest of former Minister Basil Rajapaksa although they had some issues with regard to his engagement in politics. Media Spokesman of the Party Mohammed Muzammil was addressing the media at the Party Head Office yesterday(23).
