71st Independence Day of India Celebrated in Sri Lanka

The High Commission of India and the Indian expatriate community in Sri Lanka celebrated the 71st Independence Day of India on Tuesday, 15 August 2017 at India House in Colombo. At a flag hoisting ceremony, the High Commissioner, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, unfurled the National Flag and inspected a Guard of Honour presented by the BSF contingent. He read out excerpts from the Address to the Nation on the eve of Independence Day by the President of India, Hon’ble Ram Nath Kovind.

Treasury Bond issue : Mahendran and Palisena’s Counsel to be present at data extraction

The Treasury Bond Commission yesterday issued an order to handover mobile communication devices and mobile computer device of Arjun Mahendran and Kasun Palisena to officers of the Criminal Investigation Department. The CID is to extract data from these devices to be examined by the Attorney General’s Department and the Commission of Inquiry.
