CCD puts off Mirissa demolitions

The National Disaster Management Center (DMC) yesterday announced that more than 125,954 persons belonging to 32,136 families have been affected by the prevailing adverse weather condition in the country with 13 deaths reported so far.

Mahendran in Singapore

The Attorney General yesterday informed the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court that Sri Lankan Police were informed through the Interpol that former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran is currently living in Singapore. Additional Solicitor General Yasantha Kodagoda PC appearing for the Attorney General informed Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne that the CID has taken necessary steps for the extradition of Mahendran under

Extradition Laws in connection with the Central Bank treasury bank issue.
