Presidential-aspirant Gota gets going on Vision 2030

Former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa, who is widely speculated to be a 2019 presidential candidate, yesterday unveiled his vision 2030 for Sri Lanka, promising to transform the economy with futuristic policies and measures but more importantly with the right people and execution.

Bus operators warn of strike

Irked over the increase in fuel prices, private bus operators have threatened to launch a countrywide strike if the Government does not approve a fare hike for them. Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association (LPBOA) President, Gemunu Wijeratne told Ceylon Today that the association will be forced to cease services from 17 May, if the Government does not approve a proper increase in bus fares.
