Notable absentees at UNP May Day rally

Several Ministers and Parliamentarians of the United National Party (UNP) did not attend the party’s May Day rally held at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo yesterday (6).

Some of the notable absentees included Ministers Kabir Hashim, Sagala Ratnayake, State Minister Palitha Range Bandara, Deputy Minister Ashok Abeysinghe, and Parliamentarians Chaminda Wijesiri and Ravi Karunanayake.

It was reported that Bandara and Hashim were unable to attend due to illness while Wijesiri’s close relative had passed away. Further, Minister Ratnayake was at a religious ceremony in Galle.
