Tracking wildlife migration has been historically difficult in the rugged terrain of Alaska. Researchers primarily rely on either surveys or GPS tracking to understand bird migration patterns. Both methods are expensive, either in terms of time or money. And the trackers are often too large or heavy.

Gnanasara Thera enlarged on bail

Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) General Secretary Ven. Galagoda Athhe Gnanasara Thera was released on bail by Homagama Chief Magistrate Udesh Ranathunga yesterday (22). Bail was set at two sureties in Rs 500,000 and his passport impounded.

PC Elections (Amendment) Act to be amended

Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government Faiszer Musthapha is scheduled to present a Bill to amend the shortcomings in the PC Elections (Amendment) Act, once the proposals are presented to him by a committee formed in this regard. The Bill would initially be presented as a Cabinet Paper for approval, subsequent to which it would be presented to Parliament, polls monitor the People’s Action for Free and Fair Elections (PAFFREL) said.
