She just couldn't get along with her co-stars
It seems as though Armenian mother-of-three Peggy Sulahian will join the ranks of other ladies who only lasted one season on The Real Housewives. When cast members are booted off the show after just one season, it’s usually because they were not exciting enough to hold their own next to the drama-loving women. In Peggy’s case, it’s because she was just too volatile.
Should Peggy be given another chance on The Real Housewives of Orange County after all of her crimes against her co-stars?
The Real Housewives of Orange County reunion show ended with frenemies Vicki Gunvalson, Shannon Beador, and Tamra Judge hugging and making up, and Meghan King Edmonds announced that she was pregnant with a little boy. Some rivalries remained firmly in place, especially that of 44-year-old Peggy and… most of the stars of the show!
She was labeled as a homophobe after her brother Pol’ Atteu claimed that she banned him from their father’s funeral because she disagreed with his lifestyle. That wasn’t about to fly with her co-stars.
Real Housewives of Beverly Housewives star Lisa Vanderpump called her actions against Pol’ “disgusting,” saying, “I do not tolerate prejudice of any kind and any attack on the gay community is something that I take very personally.”
Throughout the season, Peggy was critical of her co-stars in ways that created almost too much real-life drama. She often said that she felt “bullied” by them because they misunderstood her. She felt especially pushed around by Kelly Dodd who claimed that her anger management skills were being tested by Peggy.
Things came to a head in Iceland when the women sat down to dinner. Kelly tried to apologize to Peggy, but Peggy refused to accept any kind gestures from her. Kelly left the room to cool down and not get in a “fist fight” with her.
Peggy then said that Tamra and Kelly were making fun of her which Tamra denied. Immediately after that, Peggy cemented herself as the show’s villain when she pulled out her phone to show the entire table a video of Meghan’s baby allegedly crying for an extended period of time. Peggy was insinuating that Meghan was a bad mother which enraged the other women on the show.
After a heated screaming match, Peggy left the trip early.
Peggy went on Housewives Happy Hour to explain how she felt about going back for another season. She said, “If [Bravo] likes me and they want class and not trash, they’ll have me back.” Bravo stated their answer loud and clear.
An insider close to RHOC production told Radar Online, “None of the ladies wanted to work with her anymore. After the reunion they were just done with her.” It was alleged that most if not all of the show’s stars asked the producers to find someone else for her spot.
“She didn’t bring anything to the table. The other women cannot stand Peggy. She has started so many fights with the ladies that were absolutely outrageous and unnecessary,” a different insider dished to the outlet.
While the Real Housewives brand is built on drama and in-fighting, castmembers will be booted if they can’t make friends with some of the cast or if their behavior goes into illegal territory.
Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks was given the axe after she started a rumor that Kandi Burruss planned to drug and rape Porsha Williams.
