Local Government Election EC releases 13 delayed results

The Elections Commission (EC) on 12 February released the Local Government election results for 13 Local Government bodies which had been delayed.

The delayed results were submitted to the Government Information Department.

The results for 14 Local Government bodies were not published by 11 February (afternoon).

The Local Government Bodies in question were the Anamaduwa Pradeshiya Sabha, the Ridimaliyadda Pradeshiya Sabha, the Pathadumbara Pradeshiya Sabha, the Mahawa Pradeshiya Sabha, the Koralai Pattu Pradeshiya Sabha, the Thunukkai Pradeshiya Sabha, the Valikamam North Pradeshiya Sabha, the Manmunai West Pradeshiya Sabha, the Uhana Pradeshiya Sabha, the Horowpathana Pradeshiya Sabha, the Karuwalagaswewa Pradeshiya Sabha, the Navithanveli Pradeshiya Sabha, the Niyagama Pradeshiya Sabha, and the Ratnapura Municipal Council.

Out of these 14 LG Bodies, the Election result for the Anamaduwa Pradeshiya Sabha is yet to be released as of yesterday (13) afternoon.

Meanwhile, the EC yesterday announced that a media briefing will be held today (14).
