Range Bandara’s son re-remanded

Range Bandara’s son re-remanded

State Minister Palitha Range Bandara’s son Yashodha Range Bandara, arrested for causing an accident in Puttalam, while driving in an intoxicated state, was further remanded till 14 June, yesterday (12).
The suspect was re-remanded by Chilaw District Magistrate Rakitha P. Abeysinghe. 

However, the suspect was not produced in Court since he was still recuperating at the Sri Jayewardenepura Hospital in Colombo under Police protection.

Yashodha Range Bandara was arrested over an accident by the Arachchikattuwa Police on 8 June.


He was charged with the criminal misuse of Government property, driving under the influence of alcohol and the possession of a sword with criminal intent. 

Yashodha Range Bandara was driving a vehicle, belonging to the Ministry of Irrigation, when he lost control of the vehicle which veered off the road and crashed into a private residence at the Kottapitiya Junction, in Arachchikattuwa, Chilaw on 6 June.
