Former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa says that the present Government was mainly focused on personal vengeance rather than developing the country.
Speaking at the launch of the ‘Harimaga’ initiative in Kolonnawa on Saturday (7), Rajapaksa said that the Government was not keen on developing the country.
“We have never seen the Government talking to media about development of the country, instead we see them talking about nabbing or punishing someone," he said.
He further stated that the policy of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa was to satisfy the citizens. That’s why, after the war, he developed certain areas of the country. “However, today everything that he developed is being sold to foreigners,” he added.
"The former President took loans for development of the country too. However, there were no plans to sell the country. Since the present Government has made such plans while taking loans, we have to find a way to face this challenge strategically and find a solution," he added.
