He was speaking at a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Media briefing at the Party Headquarters.
When queried by journalists whether switching to and fro between parties was ethical, he replied that this was definitely a serious problem.
“There is a serious problem in this sort of behaviour. This is why we want to call a General Election, then the people can decide on what kind of politicians they want to elect. People will then be able to vote for those that they see fit, and do away with those that they believe are unsuitable,” he added.
Senanayake and Suresh defected to ousted United National Front Government on 14 November after crossing over to the purported Government formed by President Maithripala Sirisena and appointed Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa a few weeks back.
