MR and Ranil discuss Polls

Following the month-long political turmoil in the country, appointed Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and ousted Premier Ranil Wickremesinghe had a brief meeting at the Parliament Complex yesterday (30), Ceylon Today reliably learns.

According to the informed sources, they had discussed holding elections in the future.

During the meeting, Wickremesinghe had reportedly said that the political turmoil should come to an end by respecting the Constitution before holding any election. After that, there should be a discussion among all the parties, he added. A decision about holding an election can be taken after that, he had told Rajapaksa.
